Waterproof floor for fish shop

For a fish processing company in the food industry in Yerseke, we made a concrete lobster tank completely waterproof with a PMMA coating. The existing floor was defective due to a fault in the concrete construction. Waterproofing was essential; aesthetics did not play a role here.

We started by sanding the substrate, after which a primer was applied and sprinkled with coarse grit for sufficient layer thickness. An additional protective layer was then applied. The walls of the bin were also included in the primer up to 10 cm high. The transition between floor and wall was finished seamlessly with a flexible PMMA membrane for maximum waterproofing.

Finally, a wear-resistant top layer was applied - thicker than usual - so that the floor can withstand intensive use and remains watertight for a long time. The result: a durable, liquid-proof floor that perfectly meets both the customer's requirements and the high hygiene and safety requirements within the food industry.
