What is an epoxy floor?

An epoxy floor is a strong, seamless commercial floor that can withstand heavy loads and is easy to clean. Whether in a warehouse, workshop, showroom or production area, these floors offer a modern look and maximum durability. Malema Coatings supplies both epoxy cast floors and epoxy coating floors tailored to your specific situation.

Epoxy flooring or epoxy coating?

Although epoxy screeds and epoxy coating are very similar, there are important differences:

  • Epoxy screed: A completely new, hard-wearing floor with a sleek, seamless finish.
  • Epoxy coating: a thin, protective layer over an existing floor, ideal for large areas and budget-friendly solutions.

Both flooring systems are liquid-proof, low-maintenance and offer a long service life. A big difference is in the layer structure. Our specialists will be happy to advise you on the best choice for your business.

Colours and finishes

An epoxy floor is available in various colours. We supply RAL 7001 as standard, but all RAL colours are available on request. In addition, we can add anti-slip for extra safety in humid or pressure-loaded environments.

Maintenance & cleaning

An epoxy floor is easy to maintain. Regular dusting or vacuuming keeps the floor clean. For deeper cleaning, a flat mop with a mild, soap-free detergent is sufficient.

Costs of epoxy flooring

The cost of an epoxy floor depends on the type of floor, surface area and substrate. An epoxy coating floor is often more economical than a casting floor, as it is thinner and is applied faster. Request a no-obligation quote for a tailor-made price indication.

Yes, an epoxy floor can be excellently combined with underfloor heating. Thanks to its seamless structure, the floor conducts heat well and ensures even heat distribution.
Epoxy floors may discolour under the influence of UV light over time. To prevent this, a UV-resistant topcoat can be applied.
Epoxy floors are very strong, but may show slight scratches when used intensively. A topcoat or PU finish can be added for extra protection.
Use a soft broom, dust wiper or mop with a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that can damage the top coat.
